Goings on at the Shoulder of Mutton, Weldon
Added by Dickie on Mon 13th March, 2017A day out to Leicester was enjoyed by a group of 58 locals from the Shoulder Of Mutton pub in Weldon on Saturday 11th March.
The trip coincided with the Campaign For Real Ale's Leicester Beer Festival with beers from the Weldon Brewery showcased there amongst the 260 real ales at the event. A new Gin Palace was introduced at the festival this year and proved very popular, particularly with the visitors from Weldon. The famous curries served at the festival were as always delicious.Visits were also made to various real ale pubs in and around the City Centre and a wonderful day was enjoyed by everyone. The day's arrangements were made by Andrew Whitaker and David Fursdon, local members of Camra. Thanks are expressed to Gary Akiens of Leicester Camra for meeting the bus and his help planning the day out. Also a big thank you to Lee our driver. The next FREE BUS from The Shoulder Of Mutton is on Saturday 10th June to Market Harborough and coincides with Carnival Day.Seats are limited to 75 with a booking form at the pub from Friday 17th March.Bus departs from the Shoulder at 1.00pm and returns from Market Harborough at 7.30pm.
